Steam Winter Sale is back with big discounts – Polygon

The yearly Steam Winter season Sale is underway now– and with it, choosing The Steam Awards for 2020. The sale lasts up until Tuesday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. EST and, as usual, provides high discounts on present releases and huge names.

Now, there are lots (if not really thousands) of games going for $10 or less, and more being provided at up to 75% off their list cost. That includes Ark: Survival Evolved at $9.99 (initially $49.99), Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (half-off at $9.99), Far Cry New Dawn at $9.99 (down from $39.99) and Watch Dogs 2 at $9.99 (normally $49.99).

For the 2020 Steam Awards, Valve has chosen five nominees in 10 different classifications, and not all of the candidates are video games that launched in 2020. Classifications vary from “Outstanding Visual Style” to “Best Game You Suck At,” and the Game of the Year competitors include 2018s Red Dead Redemption 2 and 2019s Death Stranding– although that did concern Steam in July 2020. Voting is open through Jan. 3 at noon EST

Other special deals include Ace Combat: Skies Unknown at $19.79 (down from $59.99); Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition at $39.99 ($10 off), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (GOTY edition) at $38.99 (35% off), and Death Stranding at $29.99 (half off).
